You have a successful business but you know that you are missing out on making more income.

Is it because you don’t delegate enough? Sure, could be.

Is it because you don’t post on social media enough? Depends on how you feel about social media and your following.

Is it because you passed up on the really expensive advertising your competitors are doing? Maybe but doubtful.

My guess is that it has to do with your follow up. Most people let sales fall through the cracks because they aren’t paying attention to the prospects that are on the fence, or the customers that bought and may need something more.

The more your business grows, the less time you have to focus on the individual emails and reach outs you may have done in the early days.

That is where email funnels come in. Those are set it and forget it type of emails. They take a little time to create and setup, but once they are running, they are reaching people whether you are busy at work or spending quality time with your family.

Having the right email funnels in place means they work for you all the time and increase your conversion rates as well.

Some of the funnels you may want to put in place would be:

Welcome – when someone signs up for your marketing list or purchases a product or service. These emails will tell them what to expect, what you value, how to reach you or support if needed and anything else of importance.

Sales funnels – these can be promotional for selling a product someone has expressed interest in or they may be upsells after someone buys to get them to the next product you want to get them interested in.

Keep in touch funnels – these are for the people that have maybe downloaded a free offer on your site or a coupon of some sort. This series sends an email maybe monthly so you are staying top of mind for when they need you but you are not being annoying.

There are many more types of funnels as well that you can put in place. These were just a few suggestions.

The emails should be interesting to read, easy to read, provide value and build relationships.

Once you have the funnel in place though, you also want to be sure someone is monitoring it, even if that is only once a month to start. You want to be keeping track of who is downloading your information, opening your emails, what emails don’t have good open rates (these you may want to rewrite a bit to make them more compelling.)

You don’t have to reinvent the wheel each time a change is needed either. Start with the subject line if they aren’t opening the email. Once that is working, you may need to tweak some of the copy to get them to click links inside the email. Just change one thing at a time so you can see the stats and what is working or not working.

Once you have a funnel working, run with it as long as it works. Just make sure the content is up to date and relevant at all times.

You don’t have to be overwhelmed with this funnel project either. Break it down. What funnels do you need, and what order of priority should they be in? Once you are clear on that you can start getting the first one together and implemented.

Remember, just take things one task at a time and you will get so much accomplished. Then once these are setup you can focus more on the tasks that only you can do, and be confident that you are taking care of business with your reach outs as well.
